New Member Information
Welcome to GaMPI – Meeting Professionals International Georgia Chapter!
On behalf of your fellow GaMPI members, your Board of Directors and the Connector Program, welcome to GaMPI membership!
Within the next few weeks, a member of the Connector Committee will be contacting you. The Connector team is committed to helping you and your organization get the most out of your GaMPI membership during your entire first year. Please take a moment to speak with them when they call, or email.
The following information will help you get started off on the right foot—and provide you with important program and communication timelines, as well as easy-to-access-resources that you can use immediately.
- The GaMPI educational program is held on the third Tuesday of most months.
- On-line chapter newsletter, Re:Connect, emailed monthly, will update you about events and educational opportunities coming up soon.
- Be sure to familiarize yourself with www.gampi.org and definitely check out the “New Member” area designed especially for you. Simply click on “Membership”. The “New Member” area includes the current Connector/ Mentor Assignment page, as well as other pertinent information. The “Join A Committee” link takes you to a listing of opportunities available on committees right now. There is no better way to get to know--or get known--by members than to get involved; and, the web site and your Ambassador can help you figure out how to do so on your tight schedule. Your user name is your MPI Membership Number and the default password (unless you have changed it) is GaMPI1234.
- The MPI International Headquarters will begin to include you in an email newsletter distribution updating you on international industry research, events and conferences. To learn more about support available to you on an international level, visit www.mpiweb.org.
Our Membership Orientation is held at 10:30 AM, prior to most educational programs. To register, simply go to the website www.gampi.org and click on the event that you would like to attend and select the area for Membership Orientation on the registration form. This informative overview of the chapter and the opportunities available to you can be invaluable.
Your Ambassador will be contacting you shortly. If you need any assistance in the meantime, please contact Jeff Whitney, Connector Committee Chair, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition, if you have already figured out that the best way to get the most benefit out of your membership is to get involved, you can also contact Jorge Colona, Member Activation Committee Chair, at 786-358-9276 or email@example.com and a MAC committee member will help you do so.
On behalf of our many Georgia members, welcome!
